Key Lekkerland member AC Ward Son is carrying out an £850,000 investment in its fleet, replacing older trucks with new 18-tonne vehicles.
Managing director James Ward said Volvo and MAN lorries, acquired when AC Ward took over Saxtons, were being replaced with 20 Mercedes Axor vehicles.
The Thurrock-based company also has a deal with media agent RoadAds, which enables AC Ward to earn commission from advertising on the side of the trucks.
Currently, two ad campaigns – Virgin Radio and Triumph lingerie – are running on the fleet.
James Ward said: “We are the leading independent delivered wholesaler within the M25, giving great exposure to any adverts, and that was why RoadAds was keen to work with us.”
