Cert Logistics is trying to prevent damage to items in transit with a new device for securing loose products to pallets.
The Loadhog lid is a plastic lid that secures loads to a pallet without the need for disposable strapping and shrink wrap, reducing packaging costs and, claims its maker Loadhog, reducing product damage.
Loadhog also insists its lid is easier to use than conventional wrapping systems and that a single operator can secure a load in seconds.
Cert is trialling the system on returns, and commercial director Laurence Abel said: “If everything goes well with the returns trial we will look at potentially rolling out Loadhog into general logistics. We have been very impressed so far.”
