The newest distribution facility in the 3663 estate, at Lichfield, has been equipped with Link 51 pallet racking in a bid to maximise storage capacity.
The Lichfield site is a food storage operation that combines ambient, chilled and cold areas.
The Link 51 racking and shelving installation is divided into three distinct areas with approximately two thirds of the available racking space is given over to ambient storage.
The design also features a number of forklift truck access aisles at key points with racking above. The racking is fitted with mesh to the underside for safety reasons.
Bay widths of up to four metres are available in selected areas, permitting the storage of up to three pallets per bay beam level.
The installation has been completed with upright protectors on all front faces and the extreme rack ends to minimise the risk of accidental damage from intensive forklift truck activity.
Keith Evans, sales director for Link 51, said: “The 3663 project is an excellent example of our work in the food distribution sector.”
