It’s 55 years since the invention that changed the lives of wholesale and retail staff the world over.
Yes, it’s the birthday of the hand-labelling machine. While we recognise this isn’t on a par with the invention of telecommunications or the lightbulb, imagine having to print, or worse, write individual price labels and apply them to your stock!
So in 1959 the Jedermann hand-labelling machine was launched by German company Meto. It revolutionised the labelling process in that it could print, dispense and attach a label in one easy motion and this simple, yet genius technology has been a staple part of the supply chain’s kit ever since.
To celebrate, Meto, now part of retail tech specialist Checkpoint Systems, has launched an anniversary edition.
The new addition to the NM series is also made in Germany and available until 30 September 30 as a single unit or as a kit with labels. For further information, please visit www.meto.com.
