Mark Aylwin will take over as chief executive of Blueheath when Douglas Gurr steps down at the end of August.
Aylwin is currently supply chain and IT director of MBL, and has been in charge of integrating the supply chains of Londis and Budgens. He joined MBL a year ago having previously been a board member at Safeway as supply chain director.
Gurr, who was a founder of Blueheath five years ago, announced in May that he intended to step down.
In another senior management change it was announced that Richard Rose, the former chief executive of Whittard of Chelsea, was joining the board as deputy chairman. The current chairman, Colin Smith, will hand over the role to Rose on September 1, with Rose becoming an executive within the company.
