Parfetts’ trading director Greg Suszczenia (pictured) has been promoted to the position of joint managing director – working alongside David Grimes – with immediate effect.
Suszczenia began at the company as a buyer before managing Parfetts’ Halifax depot. He rejoined the Head Office Trading team in 2008, becoming trading director two years later.
David Grimes welcomed the appointment saying: “Greg and I have worked very closely together over the last four years, engineering the business transition from family-owned to employee ownership as well as coping with all the usual business challenges. Parfetts has ambitious and exciting development plans for 2015. Greg’s wealth of knowledge and experience will help us to achieve our long-term objectives and maintain our excellent pattern of growth over the next few years.”
Suszczenia commented: “I`m grateful to David for sharing the title of MD as it will help those understand our business who aren’t quite close enough to it. Going forward David and I will continue with our plans to shape the business into one fit for a long-term future.”
Parfetts was founded in 1980 and has been employee-owned since 2008. The company has recently announced its results for the financial year ending June 30 2014 recording turnover of £309m and a pre-tax profit of £3.6m. Promotion from within wherever possible has always been a part of the company culture, according to the firm.
