Parfetts Cash amp; Carry has appointed John O’Neill as retail development advisor for its Stockport depot.
He will be responsible for working with potential and existing customers to improve and develop their business. O’Neill is an example of Parfett’s internal recruitment policy having worked at the Stockport depot for over five years. He joined as a part-time checkout assistant while he was in college, and after he graduated he was taken on full-time, steadily progressing to checkout keyholder and most recently checkout supervisor.
O’Neill said: “Becoming the retail development advisor for the Stockport depot is a fantastic opportunity for me.
“The new role is a massive learning curve for me. Every store is different and has different needs, but it’s great to be out and see this whole sector from another side. I’m grateful too that what started off as a part-time job to see me through college has now developed into a defined career and one that I am enjoying immensely.”
Chairman Steve Parfett said: “We are incredibly proud of our retail development team and the work they do to help improve our customers’ businesses and in turn develop customer loyalty to Parfetts. John has already proved he has excellent customer skills through his time in the checkout team and this has translated well in his new position.”
