Nisa-Today’s has appointed John Haigh as its first in-house company secretary and solicitor.
Haigh will act as the company secretary to the board of Nisa-Today’s (Holdings) Limited, and he will also act as solicitor and counsel to the company, providing advice to the board and executive.
Haigh began his career as an in-house lawyer for the Co-operative Wholesale Society and was a barrister in London and Manchester Chambers. He runs a corporate consultancy – Kirkless Consulting, to provide legal and advisory services to small businesses.
Neil Turton, chief executive officer of Nisa-Today’s, said: “By combining the company secretary role with our first company solicitor’s role, we are improving efficiencies and saving our members money, by avoiding the need to refer to outside lawyers on routine legal matters.”
