Parfetts Cash Carry has appointed David Grimes as the finance director of the company. He is currently deputy general manager at Parfetts’ Sheffield depot, and takes over from Robert Miller who is standing down from the position but will remain at Parfetts.
Grimes was recently awarded the FWD Gold Medal for Depot Manager of the Year and has been with the Sheffield operation since it opened in November 2004.
Prior to this he was based at Parfetts’ head office in Stockport as company accountant for 10 years.
Managing director Steve Parfett said: “David has been a trusted member of the Parfetts’ team for over a decade and even prior to that he was involved with the company as a senior member of the audit team at our accountants.
“He is not only familiar with the Parfetts’ accounts system, but also has valuable experience in operation aspects of the company as a result of his key role in the launch of our new depot in Sheffield.”
He added: “He will be only the third non-family member to be invited onto the board in Parfetts’ 25-year-history.”
Parfett said Robert Miller would hand over responsibility for financial systems, which he had overseen for the past 20 years, but would further develop the general management side of his role as a director.
Chris Carter will be taking over as deputy general manager at Parfetts Sheffield.
