DBC Foodservice has appointed Simon King as its new buying and marketing director.
King will have DBC’s buying, marketing and quality assurance teams, across all the foodservice sectors reporting to him. His responsibilities will include all buying (except meat) across DBC, building relationships with key suppliers and raising awareness of DBC in the marketplace.
King has previously worked for Coca-Cola Enterprises for 13 years, most recently as associate director and strategic procurement. He also looked after the contract catering side of the business as national caterers’ business development manager.
Chris Horne, managing director of DBC, said: “Simon brings with him the structure, rigour and vision of having worked for a major FMCG blue-chip company, attributes which will be extremely valuable in driving our buying and marketing teams forward and ultimately building DBC’s business.”
King said: “Everyone I have met so far at DBC is highly passionate about food and has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the industry. I am greatly looking forward to working with my teams to further grow DBC in the marketplace and ensure that its excellent customer service continues to come first and foremost.”
