C J Lang amp; Son has appointed Roy Williams as its new independent sales controller.
Williams has worked within the Scottish FMCG market for almost 30 years, helping establish and build business for companies including Whitbread, Interbrew and First Milk.
He joins C J Lang amp; Son from United Wholesale Scotland, where he was responsible for introducing new stores to the Day-Today group in his role as sales and project manager.
Commenting on his new position Williams said: “I have had many years dealing with C J Lang as a supplier, so I jumped at the chance to work for the company when it arose.”
“I am especially interested in the independent sector because it’s about real people with passion developing their own businesses, standing behind their own counters, building relationships and sales with customers. My aim is to help guide and develop the people working for me and use my passion for people to build on the great business that is C J Lang,” he added.
Williams will report directly to C J Lang amp; Son sales director Bill Mair when he takes up the reins on May 6. Mair said: “I am thrilled to have secured Roy in the position of sales controller, and have no doubt that he will be a great asset to the C J Lang amp; Son business.”
There are more than 300 stores in the SPAR Scotland estate.
