Fourteen presentations were made to staff and suppliers at the annual Bestway Performance Awards ceremony at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London.
Members of staff, including managers across the group, vote for colleagues who, in their eyes, have achieved the best results, and for the two supplier awards, Bestway and Batley management teams and staff nominate suppliers.
As reported in the last issue David Howe, manager of the Batleys depot in Edinburgh was named Overall Manager of the Year, and the Overall Branch of the Year Award was won by Batleys Bradford and presented to general manager John Wales.
In addition, Peter Brame of Batleys Head Office was named Head Office employee of the year and Head Office department of the year award was won by Bestway IT, and presented to Graham Ringrose.
White Pearl branch of the year was Bestway Derby, and was presented to manager Shafaq Hussain, and the ‘Best-in’ branch of the year was Bestway, Manchester, and the award was collectd by Sajid Mahmood.
Batleys, Gillingham won Catering branch of the year, and the award was presented to manager Alan McCarten, and the Catering special achievers award was presented to Malcolm Campbell of Batleys, Bradford. Bestway manager of the year was awarded to Asim Qazi from the Tottenham depot, while the Batleys manager of the year was Jason Longstaff from Sheffield.
The Bestway branch of the year was Stoke-on-Trent, and the award was presented to Zaheer Abbas, and the Batleys branch of the year was Newcastle and was collected by Dave Bolam.
The award for the most innovative supplier was won by Kraft (Cadbury) and Coca-Cola was supplier of the year.
