When the Federation of Wholesale Distributors quizzed supportive independent retailers on the My Shop Is Your Shop (MSYS) campaign, lots of ideas were offered.
Instead of T-shirts and caps provided for National Independents’ Day, the MSYS centrepiece on June l, retailers should be provided with through-the-year workwear bearing the logo.
That idea came from Trevor Lloyd in Stoke-on-Trent and one of the 500 sole traders or family businesses signed up as Community Stars supporting the campaign.
Hove-based Community Star Omar Anabtawi said: “We need famous celebrities to endorse the activity, which is a great idea.”
“Keep them coming,” said Alan Toft, MSYS chairman.
