Innovation helps Heinz win foodservice accolade

HJ Heinz Foodservice is delighted to have been awarded the FWD Gold Medal for the Service Company of the Year in Foodservice. We are particularly proud of our achievements including:

1) Ground breaking innovation. In Heinz SqueezMe! and Mini Classic Desserts we have produced new products that have actually grown the category for the wholesaler rather than substituting existing products. We are continually looking for new ways to grow sales and will have more new ideas for 2006.

2) National and local support. While focusing on big promotions this year such as Red October on sauces and Masterchef on beans we have also maintained a high level of support at a local level. Trading group members, national and independent wholesalers have all been supported in terms of promotions and exhibitions. Watch out for bigger and better activity this year.

3) Healthier products in line with consumer trends and government guidelines. Heinz is playing a leading role with the FSA and we have reduced our sugar and salt content across the range we sell into the UK wholesale trade. Heinz is now acknowledged as one of the leading manufacturers in the crusade to make the UK diet healthier.
