JJ Food Service set to boost business with local authorities

JJ Food Service has secured a four-year contract on the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) framework in a move that is expected to boost its business with the local authority and education sector.

The YPO is a procurement service that allows public sector customers to enjoy cost and efficiency savings through bulk buying power. The group has an annual turnover of £460m, making it one of the largest formally constituted local authority purchasing consortium in the UK. The YPO framework currently consists of six wholesale suppliers. It is designed to meet the needs of all public sector organisations.

The Enfield-based foodservice specialist has eight branches across the UK including Doncaster, Leeds, Manchester and Aston, making it well-positioned to supply the geographical area of more than 100 YPO members, covering local authority organisations such as schools, colleges, universities and all major local government departments.
