Walkers Snacks was awarded the Catersummit Cup for Innovation at the FWD Catersummit 2006.
This trophy was launched six years ago with the specific objective of identifying, encouraging and promoting new ideas, new products and new concepts in the foodservice sector.
The winner was decided by wholesalers, who nominated and voted for 16 suppliers this year. FWD director general John Murphy commented that this bodes well for innovation.
Murphy said: “It’s important that we make the point that new ideas and innovation are just as important in foodservice as they are in the multiples or anywhere else come to that.”
Murphy congratulated Walkers Snacks for “their bold move to Sunseed oil and the healthier stance”. The award was presented at Catersummit by Murphy and FWD chairman Francis Ball to Alpesh Mistry national account manager of PepsiCo UK.
