The Today’s Foodservice Group attracted 43 suppliers and 40 wholesalers at its annual Speed Dating event at Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.
The event aims to provide an opportunity to meet face-to-face and discuss the best and most effective way to work together in the future.
Over 150,000 cases were ordered over the two days and over 400 follow-up appointments were made, with 147 new accounts opened by suppliers.
Carolyn Davie, account manager at Campina, said: “Speed Dating was an excellent event, well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. We achieved in two days what would have taken six months.”
Next year’s will event be extended to three days, running between September 14-16.
Steve Dixon, foodservice buying controller for the Today’s Group, said: “While it is a big commitment for members to give up three days we will be holding a members meeting and the second night will include a Taste Of style event.”
