The best performing cash and carry companies, as judged by their retailer customers, were announced at the HIM Cash Carry Retailer Awards.
The awards are based on the feedback and ratings of 3,660 independent retailers who were questioned while shopping at cash and carries throughout the UK as part of HIM’s Cash Carry Retailer Tracking Programme.
The presentations took place at the Cabinet War Rooms where HIM also unveiled the latest findings from its 2007 Cash Carry Retailer Tracking Programme.
The Best Information Provider to Retailers Award, sponsored by Unilever, was won by Parfetts, and Today’s Group was named Best Impulse Operator.
The Best Promotions Operator Award, sponsored by Wrigley, was won by Makro, and Landmark Wholesale won the Best Customer Service Operator Award.
Batleys won the Best Fresh Operator Award and the Best Operator for Staff Communication Award was won by Booker. The Best Own-label Operator Award was collected by Bestway.
HIM said that in view of the success of this year’s event, next year it was planning to have a black tie evening event in central London with each award sponsored by a supplier.
