Between them, forecourt retailers Raj Odedra, Lawrence Wells and Christian Watts have re-launched nine stores under the Spar fascia with Blakemore over the past four months.
Raj Odedra, who switched his three stores in Cambridgeshire to the Spar symbol group in August, told Wholesale News: “As an independent retailer I operate in an increasingly competitive environment, and in order to grow and develop my business I need to partner with a company with a strong strategic vision who not only understand where my business is today but have a roadmap for the future.”
Lawrence Wells, re-launched three stores with Blakemore Trade Partners in September. He added: “I joined Blakemore Trade Partners because of the support it could offer me to help grow my Features > Business, which was lacking prior to this. I am confident that Blakemore Trade Partners’ forecourt knowledge and expertise will help drive my business forwards.”
Blakemore Trade Partners development director Louis Drake said: “We’re delighted to welcome Raj, Lawrence and Christian to our stores estate. Blakemore Trade Partners has enjoyed a successful few months for retailer recruitment, welcoming 58 new stores since May.
“We’ve already revised our inbound recruitment target upwards due to the hugely successful start to the year, and with an ever expanding pipeline of retailers wanting to join, recruitment shows no sign of slowing down.”
Blakemore Trade Partners MD Jerry Marwood added: “Our success in recruiting new retailers demonstrates how highly Blakemore Trade Partners is regarded for helping independent retailers to develop their businesses. Our innovative new store formats, flexible partnership approach and breadth of services, in addition to the leading Spar brand name, mean that we have a very strong proposition for retailers.”
