Edmonton, North London-based based Abra Wholesale has announced the opening of a new cash and carry warehouse in Luton, Bedfordshire, effectively doubling its existing sales floor space.
Established in 2003, and a member of Landmark, Abra has steadily built its business and customer following in north London over the years and says it is now ready to expand. David Gilroy (ex-Bestway and Nurdin amp; Peacock) has been drafted in to assist on operations and strategy.
Abra founder and owner Dee Thaya said: “We are very pleased to have David Gilroy on board with us as we step up to the next stage of our development. We have carefully stewarded our company laying down the foundations for growth. We are delighted to be extending our business into a new trading area. We have customers travelling long distances to trade with us. Some from as far away as the South Coast! Our research is telling us that there’s a demand for our value proposition in the Luton area. We are very grateful for the loyal support from our customers, colleagues, suppliers and our trading partner Landmark. This expansion will create new opportunities for everyone.”
The new Abra Luton cash and carry will be on Dallow Road five minutes from junction 11 on the M1 and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2015.
